Hi Jo,
I can't get hold of the Hoen Kwe green bean flour over here in the States... will any other types of flour be a substitute, say waterchestnut flour?
I have tasted this cake a few times and it is very refreshing compared to the heavy buttercream type. There is a durian version similar to this one and I was wondering if you have the recipe.
thanks again!

I heard from members before that they were able to get mung bean flour (same as green bean flour) at the States. Try Asian stores and some online stores and see.......If the one you got is not coloured, use pandan paste/ essence to colour it. Hope this helps.

hi there, this is my first post though i have been surfing this wonderfully informative board and admiring all the food pics for almost 1 year now.. I was wondering if green bean powder is the same as green bean flour? I tried to make the pandan kaya layer cake over the weekend but the filling/topping looks spotted and does not look nice and glossy like the cakes in the pictures or what i have eaten before. Wonder what went wrong...

Kopi
This is my pandan Kaya Layer Cake using Custard Powder. This was done ages ago when I could not find Mung Bean flour here in UK.
